Remastering
In film remastering, an existing film is technically reworked to meet today's picture and sound standards. This involves high-resolution scans (e.g., 4K), digital cleaning (restoration), colour correction/grading (HDR-Dolby Vision) and new sound mixes for modern formats. The goal is not to reconstruct the original but to offer a contemporary presentation for cinema, Blu-ray, or streaming.
Restoration
FOUR-NITS gives historical films new brilliance, even in 4K. State-of-the-art software, in the hands of passionate experts, transforms classics into legends. Potential optimisations include image stability, sharpness and resolution, colour correction, as well as the removal of dirt and scratches, and colour or brightness flicker.
HDR (Dolby Vision / HDR10+)
Our in-house colourist with over 20 years of experience achieves a unique professional look with technical perfection and maximum creativity – available in HDR Dolby Vision upon request. You can also finalise your production with your favourite colourist if you prefer.
Upscaling
A low-resolution video in SD or HD is upscaled to a higher resolution like 4K or UHD. If needed with AI support.
Audio
We meticulously and manually restore film sound from existing original sources such as 35mm, magnetic tape, and digital sources to achieve the best possible sound quality for each film. In this process we stay at the forefront and alongside dialogue extraction also offer complete remixes of existing dubs. We also create modern 5.1 mixes up to 3D audio formats like Dolby Atmos, which are still mixed true to the original to offer a state-of-the-art viewing experience.

Viewing & Grading Suite in Berlin-Kreuzberg
In collaboration with our partner Celluloid VFX in Berlin-Kreuzberg, we have access to a high-quality grading and approval suite. Ideal for colour grading, screenings, and final quality checks. Remote grading is also available on request. The suite comfortably accommodates up to four people plus a colourist. Additionally, another row of seats below the grading desk with a direct view of the screen can be used.
